CSA Exhibits at the WEDA Dredging Summit & Expo ’22 in Houston, TX

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) exhibited at the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) Dredging Summit & Expo‘22, July 25-28, held at the Marriott Marquis Houston in Houston, Texas. Thank you for stopping by Booth #49 and meeting Jeffery Landgraf, CSA Project Scientist and Manager based in our Houston office.

WEDA is a non-profit technical professional organization devoted to the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering, and construction. WEDA covers the North, Central, and South America region and is a member of The World Organization of Dredging Associations (WODA).

Among the many presentations and panel discussions, Mr. Phillip Todd, co-founder of Atlantic Reefmaker, presented CSA’s recent work with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in an experimental program to engineer wave energy interception in patchy seagrass beds to promote bed coalescence and new seagrass acreage as mitigation. The 2017 project was located in a chronically patchy, wave-swept seagrass bed inshore of Oregon Inlet, North Carolina. Through long-term monitoring, it appeared to be performing its intended function as seagrass acreage increased through seafloor colonization and bed expansion.

CSA provides comprehensive environmental support services for specific marine dredging projects and port development locally and worldwide. We develop and manage scientifically robust projects for clients around the world—from small seagrass surveys to large-scale environmental support and mitigation efforts. It was great meeting you and we look forward to seeing you at future WEDA events!
