Environmental Permitting for Gulf Landing Deepwater Port

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. developed a monitoring plan to establish baseline information on fish eggs and larvae in the area in and around Gulf Landing’s permitted deepwater port site. In addition, macroinfaunal populations were studied. This monitoring program was a requirement to obtain the permit for the liquefied natural gas regasification facility in West Cameron Block 213, about 38 mi south of Cameron, Louisiana.

The monitoring plan incorporated the collection of baseline information and laid the foundation for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of information to be collected during the operational monitoring effort relative to Species of Concern. This program was tested, and the monitoring plan was revised based on the results of the testing effort. After approval by the appropriate regulatory agencies, baseline data was to be collected for a period of 3 years.
