A team from CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA), a marine environmental consulting firm, was excited to exhibit at the Suriname Energy Oil and Gas Summit (SEOGS) in Paramaribo, Suriname this week. At this well-attended conference—the leading industry event for Suriname’s emerging offshore energy sector—CSA also announced the official opening of its new corporate office in Paramaribo. This strategic expansion aims to address the escalating demand for expert marine environmental, geophysical, and geotechnical services in Latin America, particularly in the offshore energy sector.

To date, CSA has successfully completed more than 100 multidisciplinary marine survey projects in the region, 60 in Suriname alone, all designed to equip offshore energy developers with scientifically robust analysis and local mitigation guidance throughout the exploration and production life cycle. With further drilling activities planned in the Suriname basin, CSA is dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions to meet the evolving needs of its clients. This includes CSA’s Environmental Data and Geospatial Services (EDGS) portal for Suriname, which was presented to visitors to SEOG and provides solutions for centralizing, accessing, and visualizing shoreline classifications and imagery, vessel locations, and modeled surface currents, as shown in the image with Dennis and Randjanie of the Suriname office.
