Meet with CSA Scientists at ASLO Meeting in Portland, 11-16 Feb. 2018 – Booth #527
CSA Vice President, Dr. Mark Fonseca will be representing CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) at this year’s ASLO Ocean Sciences meeting in Portland, Oregon. A world-renowned coastal restoration expert, Dr. Fonseca will focus on demonstrating CSA’s EDGSonline 2.0 platform (Environmental Data and Geospatial Services), a cloud-based mapping and data visualization platform and example application to ocean science applications.
Designed from the ground up by CSA scientists and GIS personnel, this secure and scalable digital mapping solution offers powerful but simple-to-use tools for spatial analysis, document management, and Full Motion Video (FMV) playback. Users can organize maps and data to tell compelling stories and reveal distinct patterns otherwise unseen. By allowing users to arrange information in a hierarchical order where views address specific project questions supported by relevant data, complex projects with multiple campaigns and tasks can be readily visualized by both project staff and client representatives. EDGSonline 2.0 innovatively combines data and report management with advanced capabilities such as geo-fencing, asset tracking, and real-time data acquisition to meet scientific and administrative programmatic needs in a technologically evolving industry.
Dr. Fonseca will be accompanied by Mr. David Snyder, Senior Scientist at CSA, noted ichthyologist and lead author of the recent Johns Hopkins Press book: Marine Fishes of Florida. Stop by Booth #527 to meet with Dr. Fonseca and Mr. Snyder and see first-hand how EDGSonline 2.0 is transforming the data management process for complex offshore and nearshore environmental programs.
